Key West AIDS Memorial
My name is Pamella Weikel Magliozzi and Curtis Weikel was my uncle. I lost him when I was only 13 years old but from what I can remember of him is all good times and great memories. He loved both me and my younger brother. From the day I was born my Mom told me that he was so happy as I was the first baby girl to become part of the family and his first and only niece. I remember my brother and I visiting him and having sleep overs at his house when he lived in Charlestown. Unfortunately when he moved to Key West I did not get a chance to visit him there but we exchanged many letters and pictures that he would sent to me showing how beautiful it was down there. He always told me that when I got older he would take me there for a visit. That never happened of course since he passed away so suddenly. I did not know that his name was on the Key West Aids Memorial until yesterday when my sister in law told me to check it out. So I thought I would write a little something and to thank everyone who ever knew Curtis for being such loyal friends to him. He loved life! He loved people! He loved cats! So do I, I have three. He loved Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross, Bette Midler, all of my favorites too thanks to him!! I will always miss him everyday of my life especially now that I became a Mom myself last year and expecting another son this August. But Curtis is resting next to his Dad, Donald (my papa) and they are both together looking over me and my family. Love you Uncle Curtis. I miss you so much!
